Ballast Control Systems
Deep Down Marine Technologies Ballast Control and Monitoring Systems provide complete monitoring and control of all tank gauging, ballast valves, throttle valves, ballast pumps and draft data.
Deep Down Marine Technologies personnel, engineers and scientists, collectively have more than 55 years of successful experience in designing, manufacturing and commissioning ballast control and monitoring systems. These systems range from simple bubbler systems to advanced control and monitoring systems using stat of the art sensors.
Deep Down Marine Technologies designs new and replacement ballast control systems and every step of the design procedure is customized to fit the client’s needs. Deep Down Marine Technologies first sends out an Engineer to perform a "site survey" to take copious notes about a system’s existing installation, wiring, and current documentation. Then, our team uses this information to develop an efficient and cost-effective system. After designing a new or replacement system, the client will be afforded the opportunity to review and verify the design.
Upon approval from clients, a then released for production. Once manufacturing receives the final design from engineering, our electricians will build a system to match the old or current system wiring. After thorough testing at our factory, the system is shipped to the customer where it is installed by our field service personnel. Any replacement system is wired to operate exactly like the old system to reduce re-training of ballast control personnel. After the system is commissioned, our technicians will provide support and training necessary before leaving the site.
A centralized control and monitoring station is typically located on the bridge or in the control room, above the worst damage waterline. Typically this is a dual bay system, which allows redundant control and monitoring of the ballast system to comply with ABS code. Where computer operated systems form part of the control system, they have back-up capability for continued operation pending loss of a single major component.
Compliance with Applicable Regulations:
